Farwell- Bucktail Junior High softball players are already getting a head start on the 2026 season as the team’s optional open field practices are now underway.
Open to girls entering seventh and eighth grade this fall, the optional sessions give athletes an opportunity to sharpen their skills, get acquainted with teammates, and prepare for the official start of the season. New and returning players are encouraged to attend, although participation is not required.
The remaining optional practice schedule includes:
• Thursday, August 6 — 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, August 11 — 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
• Thursday, August 13 — 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Mandatory practices begin Monday, August 17. Student-athletes must be registered and have a current physical on file before they are eligible to participate.
Registration for the 2026 Bucktail Junior High softball season remains open. The registration fee is $40 per sport, with a maximum of $80 per student for the entire academic year, regardless of how many sports they participate in.
