Farwell- With the same energy and enthusiasm that led Bucktail’s football program to multiple postseason berths, Bruce Ransom was leading the charge during voluntary summer workouts in Farwell.

Following a strong sixteen year run in Farwell, Ransom stepped away from the Cherry & White sidelines, but he always remained close. Ransom took over the Bucktail junior high program, that only lost one game in a two-year span. That same talent pool is now at the varsity level.

Ransom will be taking over a program that failed to win a game on the field in two seasons. The 4-time AAFC coach of the year understands what it takes to win at the state’s smallest public school to field a football team. He will surely be tested in the brutal District 9 Region 4 League.

Ransom compiled 64 career wins over his 16-year span, which included multiple Eastern Conference playoffs and their first ever home postseason game. He also led the program to the PIAA District IV 1A playoffs for the first time ever in 2017.

He also has brought a newfound life to a program, with energy that can not be matched. His ability to motivate student athletes goes beyond Dwyer Memorial Field and has the ability to better shape their futures.
