Ransom inherits talented sophomore class

Five of the Bucks’ nine sophomores on their 2026 roster

Farwell- Imagine returning to a coaching job after an extended hiatus and have a 1,000-yard passer, a running back that racked up 272 yards and an interior defensive lineman that collected 24 stops, 4 sacks and a pair of blocked PAT’S. That’s exactly what returning head coach Bruce Ransom has inherited for the 2026 season.

Corbin Pentz, Levi Stevenson and JJ Ditty all will be back for their sophomore season and this incredible sophomore class doesn’t end there.

Pentz tossed for 1,009 yards, while Stevenson played the role of Bucktail’s workhorse wrecking ball with his 272 yards on 68 carries. Ditty was a much needed defensive force at defensive end. The Bucks have plans to change some defensive schemes that will see him move to the interior line.

Sophomore Angelo Tarantella is back on the gridiron. So far the Bucktail coaching staff has been impressed with his play on both sides of the ball.

Linemen Luca DeMarte and Isaac Graw are both expected to make immediate impacts. They both are coming off of strong junior high performances a season ago. lineman Mikel Haas is also among this sophomore group.

Bucktail’s deep pockets in the skills positions will have even more depth with yet another sophomore in Marv Robinson. Quinn Dorman will also give the roster more depth in the skills department.

In total, the Bucks have nine sophomores on their 2026 roster. They all are more than capable of seeing plenty of snaps.

Ransom fell into a strong and talented class to build on following this season.
