Kevin Ransom was recently honored for reaching a major milestone in high school athletics, receiving recognition for 30 years as a PIAA football official.

Ransom, a 1995 graduate of Bucktail High School, began officiating in 1996. He was one of just 56 officials across Pennsylvania in 2026 to be honored for reaching the 30-year mark. According to the PIAA, just shy of 2,500 officials have reached that milestone.

During that span, Ransom also spent seven years officiating wrestling, adding to a long career of service to student-athletes, coaches and schools across the state.

The honor was presented at the annual PIAA officiating convention, where officials from across Pennsylvania were recognized for their years of dedication and commitment to high school sports.

Ransom is also well known locally as a former Bucktail head football coach. He departed that position in early July after leading the Bucks’ program.

His 30 years in officiating reflect a long-standing commitment to athletics in Pennsylvania, both from the sideline as a coach and on the field as an official.
