Farwell- He’s far from the biggest player on the football field, but Max Dorman makes up for his lack of size heart, determination and a 100% effort that his coaches love.

Dorman has put in the time in offseason both in the weight room and during grass drill sessions.

“He really seems to understand the position well for not playing it before.” Said junior high Co-head coach Ryan Graw

“He (Dorman), even at his size is the toughest player mentally that we have.” Added Graw

Graw is set to team up with Dan Heiser to lead the Bucktail junior high program. The duo will look to instill the culture of the Bruce Ransom led program for the Bucks.

That will start with quarterback Max Dorman. He will have plenty of help with Quinton Smith and Tucker Lebo in the backfield. Joel Flowers is expected to be at wing back.

James McKee is expected to see time at tight end. The frontline for the Bucks will be anchored by Cason Redis. Parker Thorsten and Jackson Brennan will also be part of the Bucktail line.

The Bucks will have 18 on their opening day roster, that includes 8 eighth graders and 8 seventh graders.

Their schedule is a tall task for the tiny 1A school.

It begins Saturday, September 12 at Canton with an early 11am start. Bucktail will have a short turnaround time when they square off with 4A Jersey Shore on the road at Thompson Street Stadium on September 16.

On September 23 the Mighty Bucks travel to 6A Williamsport before they wrap-up a long road swing at 4A Milton on Monday, October 5.

Bucktail finally hosts in junior high action on October 15 when they host West Branch for a 5pm kickoff.

They will conclude their regular season October 21 at home against South Williamsport.

The Jersey Shore, West Branch and South Williamsport contests will be broadcast live on Railroad City Sports.
