Emporium- Kamden Fragale is a different animal. The Cameron County senior running back put on a show on Friday night in his Red Raiders’ season opener against the visiting Bucktail Bucks.

Fragale set the pace early by scoring two first quarter touchdowns to help his team hold a 14-0 lead. Corbin Pentz and Teagan Stone hooked up on a 60-yard scoring strike to shrink Cameron County’s lead to 14-6.

Fragale added another second quarter scoring run to help the Red Raiders build a 20-6 halftime lead.

Bucktail fought back in the third quarter. Pentz once again found Stone. Their 19-yard hookup in the third quarter helped chip away at a three score deficit.

The Bucks entered the fourth quarter down 32-14. The Bucks made things interesting in the fourth quarter following a Patrick Tarantella touchdown run. Trailing 32-22 with under five, minutes remaining Bucktail failed to catch up to the Red Raiders after Fragale’s strong start.

The Cameron County senior ended his night with 333 yards rushing on 19 carries and four scores.

Bucktail’s Stephen Heiser had an extremely strong outing on the ground by tallying 148 yards on 18 carries. Pentz completed6 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Stone caught both of those scores and finished with 82 yards on three catches.

Patrick Tarantella’s 8 defensive stops led the Bucks. JJ Ditty blocked a Cameron County PAT attempt.

Bucktail will next be home September 4 when they host Otto-Eldred. The Terrors dropped their opener at Smethport 72-29 on Friday night.
