Bucktail JH softball cruises past Sullivan County, 17-2

Farwell- Sullivan County pitchers combined to hold Bucktail to just three hits on Tuesday afternoon in Farwell. The only problem with that was they allowed 18 total walks, that led to a 17-2 Bucktail victory in junior high softball.

The Lady Griffins failed to collect a base hit from starting pitcher Blake Houser or reliever Adi Getz.

Sullivan scored in the top of the first inning to lead 1-0, but it was short lived. Bucktail plated 8 runs in their half of the frame thanks in part to eight free passes and multiple passed balls.

It wasn’t until a base hit by Blake Houser to start a seven-run second inning that Bucktail collected their first hit of the game.

The Lady Bucks led 15-1 when the Lady Griffins collected a run to put the score at 15-2. Bucktail went on to score two more runs in the bottom of the third inning to enforce the 15-run rule, 17-2.

Gemma Braunns and Katie Winkleman collected the other two Lady Bucks hits.

Bucktail improved to 5-0 and are set to travel to Millville in a highly anticipated rematch on Thursday afternoon.
