Towanda- The Bucktail Lady Bucks picked up a tight team win on the tennis court, defeating Towanda 3-2 in a 4-3 format match.
The victory moves Bucktail to 2-4 overall on the season and 0-2 in Mid Penn play.
Kelsie Wagner helped get the Lady Bucks started in singles play, defeating Nadia Alderfer 6-1, 7-5. Carrie Ditty fell to Dalila Vega 6-4, 6-1, but Bucktail answered with strong wins from McKenna Phillips and Olivia Henderson.
Phillips defeated Natalee Hicks 6-4, 6-3, while Henderson rolled past Johna Miller 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles action, Towanda’s Nadia Alderfer and Dalila Vega defeated Olivia Henderson and Riley Salizzoni 6-3. Bucktail’s Emma Gentzyel and Rebekah Conway answered with a 6-4 win over Johna Miller and Olivia Masters.
Towanda’s Natalee Hicks and Keira McNeel closed out doubles play with a 6-1 win over Kaitlin Paloskey and Kaidence Tennis.
Bucktail will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 22, when the Lady Bucks travel to South Williamsport for a 4 p.m. match.
