Farwell- Bucktail’s 2026 football slate is a strange one and what better month to have strange happenings. The Bucks are set to take their 0-4 record to Carp Park on Friday night to meet 1-4 Coudersport in a game that seems winnable enough for head coach Bruce Ransom’s Bucktail squad.

Here’s the catch and it can be confusing. Their very next opponent will be Coudersport in Farwell on October 16. The Bucks will sit this Flaming Foliage out and rest up during their second open date of the 2026 season. Flaming Foliage Friday Night Lights is reserved for the ladies at Dwyer Memorial Field for the 2026 Booster Club Powder Puff Game.
Railroad City Sports will have a full preview of that game posted next week. Coudy does host Region 4 leading Smethport in between those meeting with the Bucks.

Speaking of those very same Hubbers, Bucktail fell at Smethport for the third time in as many years. The biggest question coming out of that game is whether or not we’ll see Smethport in Farwell in 2027???
Smethport started off hot against the Bucks, but once again found themselves being outplayed by the Bucks in the second half of that 49-20 win.

Corbin Pentz once again piled up yards on the Hubbers’ home field by tossing for 164 yards and three touchdown strikes. Teagan Stone’s 3 grabs for 62 yards and a pair of scores paced Bucktail. Aidan Ditty’s lone grab for 55 yards also accounted for a score.
Key Players
Bucktail continues to search for a ground game. The Bucks could only muster up 109 yards against the Hubber defense. 40 of those yards went to Levi Stevenson and Angelo Tarantella on just a total of seven carries between the two of them. The Bucktail fan base wants to see more of them getting totes. The Bucks are deep in the skills positions and they’ve yet to tap into their resources. The Pentz to Stone connection is there, we’ve seen that the past two seasons now it’s time to see what the other talent has to show.

Seven different Bucktail receivers made catches during their last outing. Pentz has equally distributed the ball and continues to grow into a dangerous weapon.
For Coudersport, they’ll be looking to rebound from their 21-20 overtime loss at Montineau. The Falcons have lost three close games in a row following their 20-6 upset over Cameron County.

Christian Driskell is averaging 84.5 yards a game rushing and Caleb Wonderly always has big games against the Bucks. Quarterback Coleman Freeman can beat defensive with his legs and through the air. Bucktail’s defense has given up the big plays in past games. Friday night in Coudersport can not go that way.
