Farwell- Two weeks ago, the Coudersport Falcons cruised past Bucktail at Carp Park. Christian Driskell racked up 219 yards in the 41-14 victory.

Driskell mysteriously did not suit up for the Falcons on Friday night, but even if he did it might not have mattered. The swarming Bucktail defense stuffed the Falcons run game and Levi Stevenson brutalized the Coudy defense for 187 yards as the Bucks stunned Coudersport 20-13 on Homecoming.

It was the Bucks first ever victory over Coudersport since they joined the D9 League and also was head coach Bruce Ransom’s first win since returning to the helm at Bucktail.
Things started off bad for the Bucks when Caleb Wonderly galloped to the endzone on a 63-yard scoring run. Wonderly converted the PAT attempt and the Falcons led 7-0.

The Bucks put together a drive that seen Stevenson grind out runs that eventually led to a Corbin Pentz 9-yard quarterback keeper. Pentz then found Teagan Stone on the try for two to give the Bucks an 8-7 lead with 34 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
The second quarter seen a back and forth battle, but neither team could strike. At the break, the Bucks 8-7 lead held.
During halftime Jaden Intallura was named homecoming king and Arionna Winkelman was named homecoming queen.

The third quarter seen plenty of scoring. The Bucks, behind 23 and 18-yard runs from Stevenson struck first on the second score from Pentz. The Bucktail sophomore quarterback’s 11-yard score gave his squad a 14-7 lead after a failed two-point conversion.
Coudersport quarterback Alex Button, who made his first start at quarterback for the Falcons started to show his arm strength. He engineered a Coudy drive that was capped off when Button found Jedidiah Horne on a 30-yard strike for a score. Trailing 14-13, Wonderly dinked the PAT off of the right upright, allowing the Bucks’ slim 14-13 lead to stand.

Stevenson took command in the waning minutes of the third quarter. Stevenson powered off runs, including a 28-yard blast. Pentz found Patrick Tarantella on a big 25-yard pass play that led to an 8-yard blast from Stevenson to build the Bucktail lead to 20-13.
The Falcons had multiple chances to tie the game, but Bucktail’s defense was in the midst of playing their best game of 2026. Dustin Bailey and Wonderly tried to pick up yards, but were stuffed by the Bucks’ defense and Dameon Bauman’s late quarterback sack on Alex Button all but sealed the deal for the Bucks. Corbin Pentz intercepted a Button pass later in the drive to end Coudersport’s final chance.

Bucktail, now 1-5 snapped a 25-game on field losing streak that dates back to 2023 and will next be in action on Friday in Farwell when they host the Elkers of Ridgeway on Senior Night. Ridgeway will be entering that game following a 32-15 loss to Port Allegany.
