Farwell- Bucktail junior high coaches Ryan Graw and Dan Heiser could not be more proud of their 2026 team. Bucktail went 0-6, but the small victories within those defeats were well worth the effort.
“We found ways to improve each week.” said Graw “And put up a fight and what’s most important was that they had a blast doing it.”
Those same Bucks wrapped up their 2026 season with another huge task in a much bigger South Williamsport on Thursday night in Farwell.
Easton Yetter scored four touchdowns, as his Mounties cruised by Bucktail 32-16 on the road.
Yetter proved to be too much for Bucktail right out of the gate. Yetter picked up big chunks of ground following a failed Bucktail onside kick and eventually scored from 10 yards out.
Following a failed PAT kick, the Bucks turned the ball over with a fumble on the ensuing kickoff. Yetter chipped away and a 2-yard pass from Bubb to Engel gave South Williamsport a quick 12-0 lead.
Bucktail trailed 12-0 heading into the second quarter and Yetter was just getting warmed up. Scoring runs of 10 yards and 8 yards, with the second score of quarter being capped off with an Addy Ritter PAT had the Mounties up big at 25-0.
Those same Bucks that Graw had spoken about showed up to close the half.
Tucker Lebo’s running set up his own scoring run from 18 yards out. Lebo punched in a two-point conversion when his attempt at a kick was botched with 1 second remaining in the half.
Yetter’s final scoring run from 5 yards out and Ritter’s second PAT extended South’s lead to 32-8.
Bucktail found themselves pinned deep inside their own 10-yard line late in the fourth quarter. Quinton Smith broke out on a long run from 95 yards out for a score. Lebo added his second two-point conversion on another botched PAT snap to set the 32-16 final.
Smith finished with 94 yards on just four carries. Lebo rushed seven times for 42 yards and his late first half score.
