Farwell- Ridgeway made it clear that they wanted to make a quick escape from Farwell on Friday night. The Elkers, who requested the early 6pm kickoff time wasted very little time in reaching a PIAA Mercy Rule lead on the Bucks.

It took Ridgeway just seven offensive plays to score five touchdowns and get out of dodge around 8pm with a 48-0 road victory in a D9 League regional crossover.
The Elkers’ defense used their athleticism and size to outmatch the mismatched Bucks and smother every offensive attempt. Bucktail mustered a mere 106 total yards and quarterback Corbin Pentz was brought down multiple times in the backfield, when he wasn’t hurried.

Owen Steger began the Ridgeway assault with a 69-yard score and a Markus Gerg two-point conversion had the visitors up 8-0. Steger’s second score came just two plays later from 2 yards out and was followed by a Jace Zimmerman conversion.
With 45 seconds remaining in the first quarter it was Gerg’s turn. The Elker senior back raced in from 40 yards out and a Steger conversion had Ridgeway up 24-0 at the end of one quarter of play.

Steger’s 69-yard scoring strike to Liam Kilpeck and a Zimmerman score from 4 yards out with 7:38 remaining in the half swelled Ridgeway’s lead to 36-0.
At halftime Bucktail honored their Fall Sports seniors. Senior football players, Tennis players, cheerleaders and band members were honored. Bucktail senior football players honored were Stephen Heiser, Aidan Ditty, Patrick Tarantella, Jaden Intallura, Dameon Bauman, Aden Bauman and Timothy Gentzyel.

The second half seen Ridgeway slow down on offense by substituting multiple players and running their offensive plays straight the middle on runs that kept the clock rolling.
Jace Zimmerman’s 7-yard scoring run in the third quarter was the Elkersonly score in the quarter.

Up 42-0, Anson Magnusson’s 4-yard score in the middle of the fourth quarter wrapped up Ridgeway’s scoring and set the 48-0 final.
The Elkers improved to 6-3 on the season, while the Bucks dropped to 1-6.

Bucktail closes out their 2026 season at Columbia Montour Vo Tech (1-8) on Halloween Saturday with a noon kickoff. The Rams lone victory came by way of a forfeit over Jenkintown.
