Bucks set for Halloween finale against winless CMVT

Farwell- Bucktail will be coming off of a rough 48-0 loss to Ridgeway last week, but the Bucks have some positives going into their trip to Columbia Montour Vo Tech on Halloween at noon.

Bucktail already knows what to expect from the Rams. The two teams met in a scrimmage way back in August. Bucktail will bring their 1-6 record to CMVT and they’ll be hoping that there will be more treats than tricks for them.

CMVT is officially 1-8 on the season. Their lone win was a forfeit over Jenkintown. The Rams have been on the wrong side of many lopsided games in 2026. A 76-0 loss at Northwest, a 66-0 loss at Midd-West and a 55-6 loss at Montrose just to mention a few.

A 41-16 home loss to Holy Cross was the Rams’ most points scored this season. CMVT will enter Saturday’s game following a road loss at New Hope-Solebury by a 35-0 count.

Meanwhile, Bucktail has dropped just two games by mercy rule. Both were to District 9 1A playoff teams Smethport and Ridgeway.

Junior Cody Zimmerman leads the CMVT offense. He is the team’s leading rusher from his quarterback spot. Zimmerman’s paltry 258 yards on 103 carries isn’t something that will alter a game, but it’s still something Bucktail’s defense willneed to focus on.

Bucktail struggled to get anything sone on offense a week ago and if they want to escape Saturday with a win, they’ll need senior Patrick Tarantella to have a big game on the ground.

In the scrimmage between the two programs, Angelo Tarantella had a huge day out of the backfield.

Bucktail enters Saturday as the huge favorite, but then again that’s why they play the games!
