Three Bucktail Players Earn District 9 Region 4 Football All-Star Honors

FARWELL — Three members of the Bucktail Bucks varsity football team have earned postseason recognition following the announcement of the 2026 District 9 League Region 4 All-Star selections.

Senior Aidan Ditty, sophomore Angelo Tarantella and sophomore Corbin Pentz were recognized for their individual performances, giving Bucktail three selections among the region’s standout players.

The honors are a bright spot for the Bucks, who competed against programs including Smethport, Moniteau, Otto-Eldred and Coudersport. With two of the three honorees returning next season, the selections also provide encouragement for the program’s future.

Ditty earned All-Star recognition along the defensive line after finishing his senior campaign with 41 tackles, two sacks and one fumble.

Wearing No. 6 for the Bucks, Ditty was a contributor to Bucktail’s defensive front throughout the season. His selection places him alongside recognized defensive linemen from Smethport and Coudersport, providing a fitting accomplishment to close his high school football career.

Tarantella was selected as a Region 4 All-Star at outside linebacker following an impressive sophomore season.

The Bucktail defender recorded 56 tackles, one sack and one fumble, establishing himself as one of the team’s leading defensive contributors.

Tarantella’s selection is particularly encouraging considering he has two years of high school eligibility remaining. His performance against experienced varsity competition earned him a spot alongside Smethport senior Cam Young among the region’s recognized outside linebackers.

On the offensive side, Pentz received Region 4 Offensive Honorable Mention recognition following a productive sophomore season at quarterback.

Pentz completed 52 of 98 passes for 678 yards and eight touchdowns, throwing just three interceptions. He also rushed for 184 yards and five touchdowns.

Combined, Pentz accounted for 862 yards of total offense and 13 touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to make plays both through the air and on the ground.

His recognition is another encouraging sign for Bucktail, as the sophomore quarterback will return with two seasons of varsity experience still ahead of him.

Together, the three selections highlight individual talent on both sides of the football. Ditty’s honor recognizes the contributions of a graduating senior, while Tarantella and Pentz give the Bucks two returning players who have already earned league recognition.

Smethport, which captured the Region 4 championship, collected several of the league’s major awards.

Smethport junior running back Jude Kisko was named Offensive Most Valuable Player after rushing for 1,218 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns.

Otto-Eldred senior Mike Eaton earned Defensive Most Valuable Player honors after recording 101 tackles and four sacks.

Coudersport senior Lucas Risser was named Offensive Lineman of the Year, while Smethport senior Zach Hungiville received Defensive Lineman of the Year honors.

Smethport also earned Coach of the Year recognition, while Moniteau finished as the Region 4 runner-up.

Other notable selections included Otto-Eldred quarterback Ryan Schenfield, who accounted for 1,800 combined passing and rushing yards and 19 touchdowns, and Moniteau’s Aiden Kern, who earned recognition at both slotback and placekicker.

For Bucktail, the recognition of Ditty, Tarantella and Pentz highlights the program’s individual talent, honoring a graduating senior while giving the Bucks two returning All-Star selections to build around in 2027.
