LOCK HAVEN – With the state and country in Democrat control come January, Clinton County voters came out to the polls Tuesday and turned the county red.
Out of the 22,597 total registered voters, 56.22% or roughly 12,750, showed up to the polls.
For the Governorship, Governor Josh Shapiro gathered 5,106 votes within the county leaving Stacy Garrity with 7,371 but that wasn’t enough to keep Shapiro from sweeping through the state for a win. With 99% of statewide precincts reporting as of 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, Shapiro received over 3 million votes with Garrity receiving 1.9 million. Ken Krawchuk of the Libertarian party received under 65,000.
For the 15th Congressional District of Pennsylvania, incumbent Glenn GT Thompson swept the region with almost 64% of the vote against Democrat Ray Bilger.
“I am honored and appreciative of the continued confidence of the large majority of PA 15 Constituents,” Thompson told Railroad City News.
“I look forward to continuing to be the voice and vote for PA 15 and a leader for our Nation. I appreciate the tremendous support in all 18 counties.”
For State Representative of the 76th District, incumbent Stephanie Borowicz keeps her seat in Harrisburg having defeated newcomer Sara Eggler in a 7,719 to 4,896 race.
A breakdown by municipality in the western end of the county is below.
Surprisingly, the 13 residents of West Keating Township who came out to the polls voted straight Republican.
