So the high school district playoffs are finally here. 2026 flew by so quickly. Bucktail rolled CMVT,42-6 in their finale but the Bucks will be absent from the postseason. They finished just 2-6.
Coach Kenn, with two N’s did the unthinkable and took his Warriors into the playoffs. West Branch will be looking to avenge a 1985 Bucktail loss to Homer-Center. 41 years is a long time, but Bucktail fans never forget!
District 9 and District 4 1A fields begin play and Jersey Shore finds themselves huge underdogs on the road. Let’s get to it!
PIAA District 6 1A Quarterfinals
Northern Cambria at Bishop Guilfoyle
There’s animosity at Bucktail with the Marauders too. If you know then you know. No upset here BISHOP GUILFOYLE 54-0
Juniata Valley at Moshannon Valley
The Hornets won 7-0 in the first meeting between these bitter rivals. The game is in Houtzdale again. MOSHANNON VALLEY 12-7

West Branch at Homer-Center
As much as I really want to take Coach Kenn, I just can’t do it. HOMER-CENTER 18-14
PIAA District IV 1A quarterfinal
Northwest at Canton
Only one quarterfinal in 1A District IV. The Warriors have the edge. CANTON 38-8
PIAA District IV 4A Semifinals
Jersey Shore at Shamokin
The rematch could be even uglier that their first meeting. SHAMOKIN 42-28

Selinsgrove at Shikellamy
Shik is the top seed and I’m still not sold on the Braves. SELINSGROVE 22-20
PIAA District 9 1A quarterfinals
Union AC Valley at Brockway
Nobody knows what a Rover is, but can anybody tell me exactly what a Falcon Knight is? BROCKWAY 48-27
Smethport at Port Allegany
Hubbers are 8-1 and District 9 still has the strangest mascots. Apparently North Central PA had an alligator problem at one time. PORT ALLEGANY 60-20

Redbank Valley at Ridgeway
Elkers have a home date with the 5-4 Bulldogs. Could be the game of the week in D9. REDBANK VALLEY 24-16
